A small percentage of the people visiting Masada seem to visit this museum, which is a pity as it is a little gem. Armed with an audio device you explore all the periods of Masada, from Herod through to the recent uncovering of it's secrets....More

We ended up going through this museum after hiking up Masada at dawn. It was a very nice automated audio tour. It is a series of rooms with statues and backgrounds to go along with the displays. It kept my girls (ages 8&10) interested, and...More

Masada is a must-see when visiting Israel's Dead Sea region. The cable takes visitors to the mountain top known for the Jewish rebels who defied the Roman Empire's military superiority for three years, under the command of General Flavius Silva. Masada is symbolic of Israel's...More

Good displays of pots and coins from Roman times - my favourite was the display of glass perfume bottles

This is just one part of the Masada site. It is good, but the ancient ruins outside will need more time to see. Allow around 20-30mins to see this museum. There is a cafe and toilet facilities here too

Very nice museum, with introductory video, art, etc. Great brief stop before climbing up to Masada itself

We stopped at the museum before we hiked up Masada at sunrise. It gave us a better understanding of what happened before we went to the fortification

You're already there (at Masada), so take the time to stop in the museum. It won't take long yet will definitely give you a better understanding of the area and interesting history of Masada.

We watched the video presentation in the museum prior to taking the cable car up to the Masada fortification. The video (in English) provides a good historical overview of Masada's history for those unfamiliar with the story.
