Suppose to be a bath house before entering the city. Nice carvings on the stones being reset into place. The whole city seems to have some sort of reconstruction planned for the future. There are some areas covered so people can work in the off season which might be raining more than tourist season. We arrived via cruise ship. Please... More

Not the most spectacular part of the city, but anywhere other than Ephesus this would be very good, it's just there is so much to see in the Ancient City.

The place where you were where you went to see and be seen. There were pools with three different temperatures of water. Most of what remains are the bricks outside, not a whole lot to see.

Compared to their contemporaries, Romans were meticulous about Hygeine. The bath house, with its pools of three temperatures were very popular. They were a meeting place to catch up with friends, talk about issues of the day, or make plans.

Without a guide it would have been very difficult to understand what we were looking at as the baths are in such a state of ruin.

Remains of a bath house in the city. This was part of a tour with NCL. They did a good job. Great value. Highly recommended.

The only thing you can dip in here is now dust unfortunately. Roman baths were busy social centres where you met people and went to see and be seen. A little basic knowledge is required to interpret the layout of a roman bath and this ruinous site is no exception. There was a hypocaust ( underfloor heating ) a cold... More
