We arrived to the Temple of Artemis for few minutes and had a chance to look for this castle from far. It is at the top of the mountain with Turkey flag.

It really wasn't worth much but they did have some fantastic cisterns. Spend more time at St. John's below it. Wonderful to see when you drive in at night, though.

The location of the castle and its imposing presence make it an interesting to visit. We found the exterior more interesting than the interior. The interior as of 2016 was not very memorable. It was free to visit.

Great location and easy to get to. The castle dominates the hilltop and is a logical place of defense, the fortress survives.

Although it is a bit of a hike to get to the top of the hill, it is really worth all of the effort. The castle has in parts been sympathetically restored - and is still a work in progress, which we think makes it...More
