Tekfur Palace is the only standing Byzantine palace in İstanbul. In order to understand Byzantine structure I suggest you to visit it, but due renovation works some parts of the palace is closed.

Interesting spot, not so touristic but also under restoration. Nothing in English but only turkish signs. Also difficult to reach. Better visit the Theodosian wall nearby till the works will complete.
