This ancient building is definitely worth the visit. The red-flowered garden is so well-kept... If only these walls could talk... Extraordinary acoustic. If you are lucky enough to visit this place while The Istanbul Music Festival is on, you will never forget the experience of...More

It is a church of the 4th century, built by the Emperor Constantine. Only the masonry remains, without any furnishings or decoration, and the interior appears as an empty space. The church is said to be a beautiful example of early Byzantine architecture; it is...More

The Hagia Irene today operates as a museum and concert hall. Yes the floor was huge and a waltz works good there. The upper level was off limits, it had a mesh net across to stop pigeon droppings. Unable to see the domes that would...More

This church (now museum) is on the grounds of the Topkapi Palace. Admission is 20 TL or included with Museum Pass. There is nothing physically inside the building, and you can't even appreciate the ceilings because of a giant net protecting the floor from birds...More

With so many unmissable attractions within a mere
stroll of each other – and all set around the site of
an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an
overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a
prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly
epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the
Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this
relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to
