According to Turkish legend, a princess was locked in this tower to protect her from being bitten by a snake. Over the years the tower has been used as a customs station, lighthouse and a residence for retired naval officers.

There's something about Kiz Kulesi that attracts you and calls you to it...just like the Bosphorus does :) I remember sitting there on the steps, sipping endless cups of tea just looking at the tower :)

It's always a nice location to visit especially during great weather. Sunset is amazing! If you have time I'd highly recommend you to enjoy a drink or tea/coffee in the afternoon. Brunch is also popular during weekends.

Home to more than half a million residents, Uskudar on
the Asian side of the Bosphorus is one of Istanbul’s
most densely populated neighbourhoods. Once a Greek
colony, later a haven for people from across the
Mediterranean and the Middle East, this gateway to
Asia has been an active and diverse hub for eons.
Still, visitors to Uskudar are often more overcome by
its myriad treasures than by its many thousand

You can't go Maidens tower from Galata, you have to pass the bosphorus first, may be with ferry from Karaköy to Üsküdar. Then you can find the port from Üsküdar to Maidens tower.

You take a tram to Eminouou, then a boat. Only takes a few minutes to reach it. Please buy an Istanbul travel pass available at the kiosk beside Sultanhamet tram stir.
