The area
Neighbourhood: Beyoglu
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.

A bit expensive, the view is excellent
Aug 2021
The price to go inside is around 10 euros per person. In my opinion that's a bit much, but it was still a nice visit. On the top is the beautiful view of all Istanbul, and as you descend you pass through a museum exhibition about the galata tower history.
The place is not friendly for people in wheelchairs as you will not be able to go to the top and see the view.

Snap A Pic or Two (At Least!)
May 2021
The Galata Tower is one of the most famous landmarks in the city, and neglecting to take at least a few photos of it would be close to a crime. :) It is not accessible to wheelchair users, so as someone in an electric chair, I sadly couldn’t experience the tower from the inside—but from my exterior views, I really enjoyed it.

I forget if admission inside the structure is free or not, but regardless, it shouldn’t be too costly. A set of steps will lead visitors to the very top, which affords some supposedly outstanding vistas. From the outside, try stepping into a small gravel parking lot (that is atop a steep gradient) so that the pictures you snap will be at a higher elevation (compared to the street a few meters lower). You should have no trouble locating this particular lot when you’re in the area. At least find an ideal place to capture a beautiful image of the tower, and you’ll have succeeded in your touristic duty.

Check the Galata Tower out!

A must-visit
Aug 2021 • Friends
‏One of the first things that will come up to anyone’s mind when asked about Istanbul is the iconic tower of Galata, situated in the historic district of Beyoğlu and very close to Istiklal street and Taksim square as well, the area around the tower is spectacular, it’s full of historical buildings, cafes, bars, restaurants, shops and everything you could ask for. The tower itself is open for everyone, the entry fee is 100 Lira(approx. 12$) per person, and Museum Card(Müze Kart) does work here as well, it’s a must to everyone who’s visiting Istanbul to come to this place and spend the day in this area, i do highly recommend doing this.

Best viewpoint in Istanbul!

It's one of the best sights in Istanbul, definitely a must-have!
I highly recommend getting an Istanbul museum card, it'll help to save your money and time in the queue.
Better visit the tower during the sunset.

A great experience. Beautiful place to watch almost all city and make panoramic photos. Every floor has something interesting. But the 7th floor, at the top is very nice , because of scenery and that dummy of the city.

Rip off/ aşırı pahalı

Fiyatı 3 kat birden artmış
Verilen servis ise nerdeyse sıfır
Asansör aşağı yönlü çalışmıyor

The fee was increased 3 times when the administration has changed.
For that value it’s not worth it. The high rise hotel nearby offers better view with a drink for a less price

Elevator to the top floors... Once you step out... What a view!!! Amazing to see Istanbul from a great vantage point! Safety is definitely taken into account.
You will descend via stairs through a museum setting... Each floor with historical artifacts and information
Self guided tour... Also audio available.

Old tower near the Golden Horn. Can be seen easily from around the city. Does cost to enter, but is neat just to see. Very many restaurants nearby. Great part of town!
