Built between 1609-1616, this impressive mosque has six minarets. Why is it called "Blue Mosque?" There are two stories: the first, more common one is that the interior is covered in Blue İznik tiles. The second is: Many years ago, ancient sailors who sailed by the mosque on the Marmara Sea saw the blue colors of the sea reflected in the mosque.

I guess the Blue Mosque needs no reviews. It's a must visit place whenever you're in Istanbul. However if you want to avoid waiting for 20/ 25 minutes find out the 5 prayer timings. They close the mosque for visitors when it's time to pray.

Simply Blue Mosque is one of favorite places in Istanbul to visit and to pray at. The interior and exterior architecture are fascinating. It takes to hundreds of years ago of the Ottoman era.

epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the

Yes 5. You can find the timings online, most likely. During salat times tourists aren't permitted unless going to pray. Non muslims permitted to tour only during non prayer times.
