Arnavutkoy Mah. Tekkeci Sk. No:8/3 | Besiktas, Istanbul 34345, Turkey
We booked The Other Tour because we were sick of boring walking tours which point out buildings and tell you dates, and which generally lack in personality. We wanted an experience that actually gave us an insight into the current culture, way of life and...More
We had a 12 hour layover with our 27 year old
Daughter and had a wonderful day with Fethi! This is our second time on the Other Tour..we saw all the highlights
Of Istanbul , went to the Turkish Bath and had a wonderful lunch...More
This is the perfect tour for anyone with an open mind and desire to see and experience something beyond what's in your guidebook. It certainly lives up to its name - Fethi's passion for his home town is contagious, and not dampened by a healthy...More
Major disappointment. All negative approach to showing their city. Half of what was promised was delivered. We were left alone with the guy's mother without any comments, for a long period (30-40 min) who didn't speak English. Had we been told that she spoke some...More
If you want to see something more and something different than the normal tourist route, this is the tour for you! Highlights were visiting a school and lunch at the guides mothers house. Personal and interesting tour that ended on a beautiful rooftop terrace.
booked tour for our first full day in Istanbul as a way to get us up to speed with the local character and feel of the city. Both my wife and daughter agree that it was a perfect way for us to boost our comfort...More
We did The Other Tour with Fethi in December. My cousins strongly recommended it to us when we told them we were going to Istanbul. They loved it, and we did, too. It is not so much a tour as an experience. There was no...More
I did 'The Other Tour' a while back with a dear friend of mine who knows a great deal about Istanbul and due to that didn't want to see the regular stuff but go off to discover other things, everyday things that are not as...More
I just got back from Istanbul, and am digesting my day with Fethi last week. I really don't know what to say or how to describe it. It was certainly one of my most memorable days in recent memory. I wouldn't call what we did...More
This tour literally blew my mind. Me and my girlfriends went on a trip to southern Europe in the summer and when we arrived in Istanbul ( it was our first stop) we felt like we needed help to really see this overwhelmingly huge city....More
In Besiktas, skyscrapers compete with palaces for space in an upscale vista replete with hilly green parkland filling in the margins. Step into this rather wealthy neighbourhood and discover a rich mix of opportunities to shop, dine, and be entertained. For folks in search of urban buzz, not to mention a constant reminder of just how important Istanbul’s waterways are to its rich history, there's the
frenetic Besiktas ferry terminal or the city’s most vibrant fish market to explore. For a timeout of metropolitan proportions, head to the bucolic Yildiz Park or the chic Bosphorus-side fishing village of Ortakoy. Attractions such as the grandiose Dolmabahce Palace and a bevy of other stately residences await admiration. To be sure, this large and not overly touristy swath of Istanbul yields plenty of pleasure for all.

The information on The Other Tour website gives you information about the cost and itinerary. If you're looking for information on hotels, transfers, etc, for Istanbul, I'd suggest perusing a good guidebook and then reviewing places you're thinking of on Tripadvisor. That worked well for me.
