Though we went here on our last day it was a wonderful place to see. I would recommend going here first with a guide as you get an overview of the rulers etc. There r two souvenir shops but you can get lots more in the streets and can bargain hard.

Every time I visit this place, I feel a mixture of ecstasy and happiness. Despite it is not huge in its collection, it combines the number of exhibits with their overall attractiveness.

A newly built museum where you can learn a lot about the moslim scientists of the early ages who discovered lots of things like astronomy and horoscopes as well as geometry and medicine. You can see a copy of the first QURAN of the 7th century! Really amazing!

On a walking itinerary of Tashkent make sure you include this museum. It's near numerous other attractions and easily accessible. Tamerlane is core to the Uzbek national identity and no trip to the country could be complete without visiting this museum dedicated to him.
