Simly Dam is a source of water for the residents of Islamabad & Rawalpindi. The dam has a beautiful lake and is very beautiful place to visit. There are rest houses but they are limited for Government servants. The approach is good and a nice place to visit.

This dame was constructed to meet drinking water requirements for citizens of Islamabad specifically but it became visiting place for the people of Pakistan who visits Murree and Islamabad. Motor boating is special event for visitors those comes over here Via this rout from Islamabad is alternate rout to upper Murree too

Rawal dam supplies water to Islamabad . The area around the dam has been developed into a very nice picnic spot and is very popular with families. There is also boating, fishing plus water sports in the lake

After driving out of Islamabad ,on Murree road At Barakahoo there's a road going to Simly Dam.Yes I totally agree with another reviewer, that the road condition is not satisfactory and half of the road is Rally track. You feel like going through a Maze to get around the dam.The only adventurous part of the journey is travelling through the tunnel...
