Went here with a couple of friends, and I was a bit disappointed with the product offerings. Go to the second floor to see clothes and other lifestyle items. Learn how to negotiate the price before going here.

Please, be warned that the jewelry stores in Thalat Sao display gems that are real and cheaper but when you finally select one the owner or manager will take your order personally and disappear for a few seconds behind the display cabinet and come back to you with a smile. The item he will give to you is no longer... More

We always find markets interesting so enjoyed our time at the morning markets. There are cheaper markets around, but this has a wide variety of goods. It runs all day but local shop for fresh goods early. It's really interesting to look at the produce etc Lots of good food if you are not fussy. Some parts are second-hand stalls.... More

This is the best place to eat to support the locals . You exchange kip for coupons . Pay for food with coupons . Order food and find a seat .. they have an expeditor to bring your order .Food is great !!! So many options to choose from. If you are a germ freak .. bring disposables. Otherwise they... More

Talat Sao which literally translate to Morning Market, used to be a local fresh market where locals go to shop in the morning. it has undergone some modernization in the last few years. Unfortunately this modernization is turning the once charming local produce market into a shopping mall for the most part. A website of the mall has even been... More

It's an all-day market so don't be put off by the name. It's a clothing, electronics and appliances market targeting locals rather than tourists but gives a great insight into the culture. Clothing is cheap - similar to the night market alongside the river. Allow 45 minutes. Visited July 2016. Parking is tricky and will probably cost you 5000 kip.

The morning market is more like an all-day market focused on selling clothing, household goods, and electronics. Not much to see and very few "souvenir" shops.

There are definitely much better and cheaper markets, but it's nice to walk around and burn some time. Notice that the location on the map is wrong- it is actually on the other side of the road next to the "Vientiane center" mall.
