Just some of the words i would use to describe this city. Stayed here for three nights before heading to Siam reap..The city has some very well maintained attractions such as the palace and silver pergola but head out to the killing fields and it gets pretty grim with sewage and rubbish ...That said we did not see any signs... My partner and I did the full day tour of Phnom Penh. It included the killing field, S-21 prison, lunch, a Mekong river cruise and a visit to the Cambodian countryside. Our guide, Reya, was fantastic; she knew her stuff and had a good grasp of English.

I booked the S21 and Killing Fields tour via TripAdvisor/viator and ended up with Da from Urban Adventures Cambodia. She was very nice and extremely knowledgeable about many things. She answered questions & gave us (myself and 4 other travelers) enough time to look around and absorb information ourselves. Bus was clean, comfortable and air conditioned. Yes you can do... More

morning spent on the horrors of the Khmer Rouge regime. Difficult and challenging at times. But important that we do not forget the mass of people murdered and killed by starvation at this time. The tour visits the 'school' prison and interrogation centre, and then moves out to the Killing Fields themselves. The guide managed to keep it going despite... More

We had absolutely wonderful time on the PP's Secrets tour with Urban Adventures guide Reya. During the whole day tour she took us on a journey from Cambodia's tragic past to everyday struggles of ordinary people today. She answered every question (and being Europeans for the first time in Asia we had MANY of them:)), was always concerned for our... More

I could only express my gratitude for Da, our tour guide. For being so sensitive, gracious, attentive and knowledgeable. If you want know more of the troubled Cambodian history this tour is a must do. Da was great in lead us through some of the toughest historical places in Phnom Penh. Despite the heaviness of the subject she was able... More

I can't tell you enough about our Tour Guide, Da. She really made the Prison/Killing Fields tours personal and as difficult as it was to process, she was there to add so much information from a first-person experience. If you do an audio tour you are really missing out to interacting with the guide. Silk farm and sunset tour in... More

Brilliant day out!! From S21 Prison/ Killing fields, lunch, ferry, silk farm to sunset boat trip. Da our tour guide was fantastic, her knowledge on everything was brilliant, her English language sills are excellent, she gave an extraordinary insight into the horrendous atrocities that took place here in the 1970s, but she was able to relay far more, the history... An educational, Poignant and at times harrowing Tour. I would highly recommend this tour to all. Our Tour Guide Lin Da was exceptional, every word from her mouth came with emotion which really relayed the enormity of the atrocity that occurred and gave a voice to each and every victim that could not tell the story for themselves. Lin's level... More
