Apart from the well-known Masjid Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddin in the city centre, there is another mosque which also famous in the city. This mosque located just outside the city centre, but close to some other location like Pasar Gadong and RIPAS Hospital. Went there for Jumaat prayer, they still practicing physical distancing and preventive measure for Covid-19 even though this country hasn't any case in nearly 300 days.

Now this mosque was built by the 29th Sultan (with his own money). Everything about it is 29 - e.g. 29 golden domes. Has to be seen and experienced to be believed!

We went there in a relatively cool night. With lights on, it is amazingly beautiful. Without the crowd, you would enjoy the outside garden quietly. Try to see each side of the mosque please. The views would be different. I really recommend a night visit I read of the day visit.

This Mosque is for men only so was only able to take pictures from the outside but I was happy with that. It is a beautiful sight to see in the day and at night. Also if you time it right and it is prayer time you can hear it all through the speakers. So lovely to hear.

At the King’s Mosque they have separate entrance for the royal family. Men and women pray separately I just found out maybe this is normal for muslims.
Photography is not allowed inside the mosque but i can say it was beautifully decorated Narra from the Philippines, chandeliers from Vienna, marble from Italy, carpet from Persia, metals from Australia and our guide mentioned the altar is gold. The room is air conditioned and they provide long robes for non-muslim tourists even if we were within dress code.

Must see when in Brunei!

As a part of an organised tour, we spent about 45 minutes wandering around this architecturally beautiful building. The interior and surrounding gardens are extremely well maintained and photo ops are abundant. There was no entry fee. A long coat will be provided for the ladies and shoes are to be removed prior to entry. An interesting & informative visit, well worth your time.
