Well it's a very old market with a history. You can get almost everything here at a bargain price. And get scared about the asking price, they will probably sell it at 1/2 or 2/3 of the asking price. So have an adventure.

I might be spending holidays in Dhaka as my husband will be working there. My question is, would it be safe for me to go to the market with my children aged 9-11? Also as a western tall blonde women, will I stand out and receive negative attention? Do I need to dress in a certain way? I'm guessing shorts are out? Any info that you can provide to keep us safe and not offend the locals and their customs would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance
