The place is for the fallen heroes who sacrified their lives for the country. There is not much to see but at least like any place of significant ..is always noble to pay your respect for the great souls.

It's a nicely displayed memorial in the most scenic park in the city. We fortunately went with a guide as part of a walking tour and were given the historical background to enhance the visit.

Peaceful experience. Take the funicular to the top or if you are fit climb the stairs. You will arrive at the top to see spectacular views, the eternal flame and of course the emotional Martyrs' Lane. Across the road are the Flame Towers.

On our recent visit to Baku we visited Martyrs' Lane. This is a memorial to many of those killed on "Black January" in 1990 when Soviet forces invaded Baku.
