This is Ho Chi Minh City's landmark and offers the most Instgram-able photo for many visitors. Unfortunately the city's main cathedral is under renovation with its facade completely covered. Better come later.

We walked passed and saw it’s under construction.
Nothing much to see, heard can’t go inside.
Place might have historical importance.

There is nothing visible from outside except scaffolding… and you don’t seem to be able to go in. So give a miss for now.

Attended 9:30am English Sunday mass at this church. Facade of the church is undergoing major restoration. I am sure it will be beautiful and back to it's former glory. Beautiful architecture inside and out. Well worth the visit or to attend mass. A historical landmark of Saigon.

So disappointed that the cathedral was still under renovation when we arrived on 1 Nov 22. Wondered if we could enter the cathedral during our next visit in 2023.

Despite the closed front doors and scaffolding, etc, this church is still open for Masses, especially on Sunday morning at 9.30am, in English.
Remember, this holy place is NOT an art gallery, so watch out how you dress and behave. Don't walk around during any service taking selfies and the like. The locals don't like this behaviour.
If you cant make it on any Sunday, there are plenty of other interesting Catholc chapels and churches around town, and all around Viet Nam, all with a very long history of Christianity. while early French Cathoic missionaries, Jesuits, built in Gothic and Romanistic styles, the newer build churches are very oriental in artecture. Yet the use of Latin inscriptions is interesting.
The most popular religious icon seems to be Polish in origin (Devine Mercy).

Loved visiting the cathedral on a Sunday morning for mass, it is at 9:30 for English mass. This was the only way to visit the cathedral as it is closed for renovations and nothing is visible from outside.

This 19th-century French-style basilica is under renovation for a long time. The public is not allowed inside. The exterior is covered with scaffolding. I am sure it must have been a great monument before and may regain its glory after renovation. Till then, it is just a box to be ticked on a visit to The Central Post Office and the plaza in front.

We made it for mass on a Sunday morning. Good experience. The facade is still under construction as of August 2022. Definitely worth a stop in Saigon.
