I would recommend to avoid it specially if you will be visiting Hanoi where you can visit HCM tomb and museum there!

The building and location is wonderful for a bit of relaxation and looking across the Saigon River. However, the exhibits themselves are frustrating as an English tourist - the museum provides little guidance on how to follow the narrative of Ho Chi Minh's struggles for an independent Vietnam. The English translation of the Vietnamese accompanying the exhibits was a bit... More

This is a nice little museum right in the heart of Saigon. Pop in during the hot mid day and relax as you wander around this old building which used to be a palace built in 1885. The display is nothing dramatic but it give a slice of Vietnamese history. The usual display of war remnants can be found outside... More

The museum is quaint and dusty but gives you a good glimpse into local culture. It could be better run and given a dusting...

Found myself strolling through an enjoyable visit during a hot rainy afternoon wandering the events taken place in the 1950s and 1960s in this grand old building.

Not a very large museum, but it is worth a stop if you are in the area. There are a number of unique items relating to the everyday lives of the southern Vietnamese, i.e. wedding customs, currency, commerce, etc.

Open daily from 8 - 4pm with a small entrance fee, 15000vnd per person with an extra 5000 if you want to take photos. There a a couple of floors with various rooms - quite a run down place now but was also quite interesting. There are a couple of outside exhibits such as old cars and planes.

This building is where Ho Chi Minh conducted business as leader of the country. Very popular with locals, there are many pictures with captions in English that detail important dates and events in Vietnam's history.

There aren't many exhibits in this museum, and what there is, is largely in the form of photographs or maps. There are various pieces of old military equipment outside. Worth a stroll if you have 30 minutes spare, but don't go out of your way.
