This Lenin statue in a park at Nguyen Thai Hoc avenue is one of the few remains I saw of a recent communist past here in Vietnam.

Now it seems Sony neon advertising are prefered to those old sovietic symbols... the signs of the times!

Lenin

You'll pass it on the way to all the HCM stuff so you don't need to go out of your way to get there. What to say, it's a big statue of Lenin, does what it says on the tin. Nice

Statue to honour a mass murderer ? Walk farther up the road. You might find one for Stalin and Polpot as well. Shameful..... Enough to see this, the city has no decency.

Across the road from the Military History Museum. Worth the 5-10 mins to get across the road and back to get up close with one of the dynamic political figures whose thoughts still have influence on Vietnam and definitely changed the world over the past 200 years.

Was not expecting to see this. Nice to look at and take a pic. But nothing else will only be a 3 star. Opposite the military museum

"I loved and admired Lenin because he was a great patriot who liberated his compatriots". So wrote Ho Chi Minh in his memoirs, Ho Chi Minh, who met Lenin when he went to Moscow in 1923, was to go on and introduce Communism to Vietnam, although he did not live to see the end result, the "liberation of his compatriots"... It is located in a pleasant enough park on Dien Bien Phu Street opposite the Vietnamese Military Museum. It apparently is there to remind people of their communist past although liitle could be found about its history.

Didn't really expect to see a statue of Lenin but he had a great influence on Ho Chi Minh so it makes sense that this would be here.

A nice green park with a big square and the Lenin Statue. The park is next to Ho Chi Ming Mausoleum. Local kids are playing football, badminton or meeting up with their friends.

Beautiful square to celebrate his influence on the region but not much around it. A drive by is probably fine

Nice park to relax at the end of the afternoon. Watching the children drive their cars and the adolescence skate/football and the elderly play badminton next to the very busy street.
