There is a lot of activity around the Westlake. The lake is a good place to take a walk if you are staying in any of the hotels surrounding the lake.

We came here hoping to go on a swan boat ride that we had read in many reviews. When we arrived we noticed that there were no other riders on the lake and the price for renting a swan was very high. We decided to have a drink at a place on the lake instead. We were the only customers... More

I usually cycle around West lake in the morning - a really good place for outdoors. There's 27km round trip of the lake instead of 17km as others said. 17km is the length of the road in the outbound of the lake, but if you cycle or walk, you will follow the narrow streets along the shore of the lake,... Did a morning run around this area, during my stay in Hanoi. I loved this area. I honestly wanted to run around this lake but it's 17km long. I shall prepare to run this area the next time! Great restaurants near the lake! Sunrise was awesome too.

You can take a walk at the specially made embankments in the evening and enjoy some roadside food as well in the vicinity.

Not much going on here at all in the winter, it's completely out the way & once you arrived there's nothing to do. Wasted trip.

I stayed in the Intercont hotel there.. It is really amazing and it is so quiet unlike the most popular area for tourists which is the Old Quarter. There is nothing much to do there. The only attraction to visit there is the Trấn Quốc Pagoda. But if you like nature and tranquility.. you will love it there.

Walked to this area as part of a full-day City tour, by car and on foot. Weather was lovely; tour guide very knowledgeable and interesting. One of a number of really interesting City attractions, including Museums, Pagodas and the Mausoleum.

Ho Tay, West Lake or The Lake of the Morning Mist - Hanoi's largest lake has a loot of names and legends around it. Great for a Sunday stroll or jog. If you cannot handle all 17 km in one stretch, there are lots of cafés around the lake.
