I enjoyed the visit to the silk village. The entire area is not big, but I still did not get to see all the stores in 2 hours we had. I see mixed reviews and I can see why. If you are not interested in...More

Well, well well... This place tries (sadely) to survive with the tourist but there not that much left. Far away, surrounded by the constructions, no need of crytal ball to predict its future...

This was just another commercial outlet, nothing unique about it. If in the area, worth a visit but do not expect anything authentic.

Loads of places selling silk, however they are all selling the same stuff. However we did get to see the old style weaving machines that I would say come from the era of our industrial revolution, very noisy and the health and safety people would...More

If you'd like to buy silk fabric then make sure and visit Van Phuc. They also have scarves, and other clothing but one of my goals in visiting was fabric and I found a lovely selection here.

We were greatly disappointed at what the silk village has to offer. Shops all selling almost same things . Poor design and price not great either. Not worth the visit.

It was interesting to see how silk is made. I had no idea the amount of labor involved. I wisely left my credit card in the car. This was my second time in Hanoi. I would not recommend this if time is limited. There are...More

No need to organize in advance. I got chatting with an amputee by the lake and she took me there in the local busses, which is the cheapest way to go. But any taxi will take you there.
