Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Too many instagram obsessed idiots.
Seeing the train was pretty cool and I'm glad I got to chill out at the railway cafe and have lots of beers n chats.
But Jesus, people's modern day obsession with getting the perfect photo and try convince everyone their life is so great,.. it's genuinely so annoying.

Pretty cool place where train past you at that close range. You would be hit for sure if you extend an arm length of you phone to take a good video. Joined a bike tour and brought us here to enjoy this special moment. Sitting at the cafe with a beer and you can also enjoy picture taking before the train arrived too! An experience that you shouldn’t miss. Do be careful especially if you have a young children with you! So sit still and enjoy…

It is closed by the authority. I could only stand outside to wait for the train and took some photos. There is a hidden path to a still opened coffee, ask the locals or travel tips

This street was great. However we did not know when the train was arriving, turns out it arrives at 7:00 Vietnamese time. The stores on this street were quite unique, and I would mostly go with family or friends. I found a store selling crocheted goods ( which I had to get some of ). And the food was great! I feel like a sign implying the time of the arrival of the train would be helpful for others. But a lovely experience!

This is a cool experience and definitely worth doing. The train comes closer than you think so be ready to step back, it’s insane how close it gets!
Sadly (but probably sensibly) the government has shut down all the cafes on the busiest part and now stop people going up there as there have been some accidents.
However, turn the opposite way down the line from where the police cordon has appeared and there’s still a section u can grab a beer and watch it come by.
Btw if someone flushes the toilet on the train, well, er, you’re gonna get splashed by piss, so just be ready for that too!

Came perhaps 40 minutes earlier than 9am Saturday train and somehow was allowed to walk on a section of the track and find a seat on a bench at what used to be a cafe. Apparently the cafes along the tracks have been closed (safety?)

So we had a ringside seat when the train came through. Must say it was closer than I expected and seemed fairly long…

Pretty unforgettable but possibly best done in the morning before the merciless heat sets in…

A lovely place to while away a few hours people watching at a nice cafe on the train tracks before watching the train pass through. Everything works like clockwork with the shop and cafe owners making sure tourists are off the tracks before the train passes through. In summer 2022 there were no afternoon trains on weekdays, only 9pm, so check the times carefully, but I imagine it will be busier again soon.

Fun happy place to spend an afternoon drinking beers above the tracks
We had a group of 7 and had many beers and huge lunch for all of us and the total price was $90.00 !
Loved the theatre of the train coming through and the fun of the street ! Well worth an afternoon visit!

Located at Hanoi Old Quarter
- Looks out for the small staircase to enter into the railway track that lead you to the cafes.
(To avoid disappointment & long wait for the train, do check out the timing & plan accordingly)
- Find a cafe with a good view to take pic/video. Prior to that, you can walk along the railway rack to pose/take pic.
- Listen👂out to the whistle blowing. There’s the signal that the train is approaching so get out of the track FAST & ready your camera/Video FAST

Super fascinating place to visit, back home in the UK we live next to a train line but it is nothing like this! The yellow safety line is literally cms from the front doors of houses and businesses. We opted for a few drinks at a cafe along the narrow stretch on a Sunday afternoon, there are plenty of places to do so that enables everyone to get a good view. You get a warning that the train is coming by the line being cleared by locals and whistles being used to highlight to everyone the line need a clearing. It is certainly noisey and hot when the train passes through and I was surprised at how long the train was
