It like your in another world when you visit the Big Buddha and Chinese Gardens. It only half a mile from the main strip of Pattaya but offers a real sensual experience while feeling part of Thailands religions heritage. A must for all visitors to this city. Ladies ensure your legs and shoulders are covered.

Amazing statues. We got some great pictures. Surprised there was no entrance fees. Great views of the town. Doesn't take long to see all the displays so it's worth getting your taxi to wait for you so your not stuck in the heat. We got a taxi from the middle of town and they waited for us and took us... Stopped in on the way back to my room. Nice and quiet. Real beautiful view. Nothing that makes it stand out from other buddhas but it was nice

Even though incomplete, the big Buddha is awesome. Even better are the amazing views! The monks praying inside was prett special. I sat with them for a bit. :) I'm lucky enough to speak a little Thai, so was able to ask a monk (respectfully) if he'd mind me taking a photo of him. He obliged and posed for me!... More

and easy to get to. Don't pay high prices for a guide! Assuiming you are in North Pattaya (north of Walking Street), take a lil red pickup truck (like a taxi) for 10THB, south, into South Pattaya. If you are further north in North Pattaya, you have to take the truck south to a dropoff point just beyond Walking Street.... More

We were taken to visit the big Buddha and were totally blown away with it. It was very majestic and obviously well loved and taken care of. It helps to know the day of your birth so that you can make a wish a leave a donation for that particular Buddha. It is also helpful to know that when you... More

We went in the morning before 11:00 but it was still very hot. Still a very good visit. Parking is not bad, most people seemed to be in groups or had come by taxi.

I've been to Thailand and Pattaya a few times and never visited this place. We rented a scooter for the day and it was pretty easy to find. The views of the city from around big buddha were good. There's not much to do around there apart from view the buddhas as they have many different ones there (some for... More
