I'm glad we never travelled any great distance to this place. We simply walked across the road to find it closed, a lady said it is never to open again.

We went to the Butterfly Hill/Garden in December 2016. We thought that this could not be that bad or even wrong to have a look for some beautiful butterflies. We should have known better. The "Cage"(a dark meshwork) is placed above the whole hill, wich is not a big one at all) It is much too small for so many... More

Shame on Centara for charging 200 baht to see NOTHING! The place is decrepit with broken stones and we saw a total of 5 butterflies which were common ones on the street.

Very expensive and nothing much to see. We only saw about three different types of butterflies! But for me what was unforgivable were two squirrels in two tiny cages! I only saw them on way out otherwise I would never have gone in! What purpose can it be imprisoning squirrels? They were clearly distressed pacing the two or three steps... More

Nice place. Not many butterflies. I was pretty disappointed. Thought there would be more quantity and more variation.

On arriving at centara we noticed butterfly garden across the road, not wanting to do much one day we thought we would go here an would maybe take 1/2 hours to go round, on entering we noticed there is around 4/5 holes in the netting above, we did manage to find around 7 or 8 different species which in total... I think I'm right in saying Samui Butterfly Garden is owned by Centara Villas. During the morning of the last full day of our holiday at Centara Villas, 7th July, the skies became very dark and it looked very much like we were in for a thunderstorm. We went to the hotel's reception, to ask if they could recommend something... More

I'm a massive fan of butterflies and was so excited to go. Sadly i was very dissappointed. The garden - poorly maintained. The roof is very high and the few butterflies that there were seemed to congregate in an inaccessible corner. The closest we got to any insects were the ants all over the place that like biting our feet.... More
