Overall a positive experience. The food, drinks and activities were top. We weren't lucky to have enough wind, so are trip was completely done by motor. This wasn't really a problem. We were happy we had taken something against sea-sickness, that was necessary.
We only missed "a connection" with the crew. We are native Dutch speaking but speak fluently French and English. There were a lot of native french speaking guests and our captian (also frensh) was connecting with them. There was also someone of the crew who connected with german people. They certainly entertained their guests, but we feld "between groups". Certainly not a problem, but having a connections with owners (from activities or restaurants), makes the experience more personal.
We certainly recommend this activity during your visit at Koh Samui!

Hi,
Thanks to take your time to send your review. We are sorry but the boat is too heavy and we are not able to go only by sail even with a strong wind we would never be able to follow a program, it would take few days to go around Koh Phangan.
I'm sorry that you fell between groups and that the crew was not more available for you.

What an amazing trip. Good timing 11am- 7pm. We were the only English couple which wasn’t an issue however massive thanks to Chris for giving us lots of advice and information regarding the trip in English. 1st stop snorkelling around a coral reef to the north of the Island and the second stop being a beautiful beach. The winds on the east of the island were strong and therefore not very good for sailing in so we stayed in the West so it was not a “tour around the island” but the crew did their best to ensure we had a great time. We were fed lots and lots of times and free soft drinks throughout the trip. Well recommended. Thanks again Chris and all the crew involved! Will recommend this to anyone visit Ko Samui :)

Thanks to the whole Chantara crew for the special and unforgettably beautiful day. In particular I want to thank Chris, the german guide in pirate costume, who led through the day in entertaining and easy going fashion. The boat is awesone and so is the food. At times I felt like I was part in pirates of the caribbean. I even took the trip twice.

I should start the review by emphasising that the vast majority of people on the full day cruise to Koh Phangan loved it. However it wasn’t the trip for me. There is not much space to sit in shade, most people sunbathed on deck. Music is played all the time and smoking is allowed everywhere, so if you’d rather not breath in secondary smoke you have no escape.
I didn’t see any fish while snorkelling. The current was quite strong so I didn’t feel confident going too far from the boat.
We had hoped to see birds on the trip, but this was only partly successful. The beach where we were ferried ashore in the tender was quite commercialised and we were surprised to not be allowed to take shoes in the tender (whether wearing them or not). The tour leader told us that it would be “good for our feet” to walk barefoot. Apart from being rather patronising this statement wasn’t true. Tracking birds into the trees behind the beach and up on the rocky edges of the beach was quite painful without shoes.
Waiting at anchor for the sunset during the trip back wasn’t particularly interesting, although for the guests who had hit the bar I suspect they were happy.
The boat crew were friendly and the food was good.

Hi,
I'm sorry for the birds but we don't sale bird watching cruise.
We don't allowed people to go with shoes on the beach as they bring a lot of sand back on the boat and it damage the varnish. Some people also when they were shoes go very far from the beach and we can't find them on time to go back on boat and we had some time to cancel the last stop.
At Snorkeling we recommande to wear life jacket to be safe in the current, if you have been on the reef there is less curent, plenty of fish, corals, anemones and shells. We can't park the boat too close from the reef for the safety of the boat and to protect the marine life.

It was a very long, very relaxing boat ride. I wish we would’ve been able to do more sailing instead of having the engines blasting the whole time. However, that is a small inconvenience. Everything else is really quite nice and I had a wonderful time.

Had a wonderful sail on the Chantara. The crew really looked after us all day, seemed to be never ending food opportunities. The Junk herself is really beautiful as is the scenery.
Really enjoyed the snorkeling too and the beach was beautiful as promised.

Amazing experience for a day. We had a tour around koh phangan which was awesome.
The captain and their staffs set in place an extraordinary atmosphere and provided us the best service we had so far in our journey in Thailande.
Special note: the food was great and allowed us to experience good Thai food.

We had a great day going from Koh Samui to Ko Pha-ngan. The crew were friendly and efficient, explaining the trip and ensuring our safety. Lunch was delicious and we enjoyed cocktails served to us at our seats. Would thoroughly recommend this trip! We had a great day!

We had a wonderful day with Pirate Eric and his crew. A chance to snorkel, swim in the ocean off the junk, land on the island beach and explore and fish on the way back to Koh Samui. A beautiful Thai lunch, as many soft drinks and water as you wanted throughout the day and a bar if you wanted to buy some alcohol. A fun day all up you choose what you want to do, or not. We had a brilliant time. Thank you Eric and you happy crew.

Il y a 3 ans, nous avons passé une journée inoubliable en votre compagnie en private tour jusqu'à Angthong Marine ParK. Nous serons de retour cette année au mois d'août et voudrions renouveler cette fantastique expérience. Mais cette fois nous souhaiterions faire un trip pour Koh Phangan.

We have trip every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, departure at 11am and come back at 7pm with sunset.
We go all around Koh Phangan. We have one stop for snorkeling, fishing and swimming.
We stop a second time to enjoy a nice beach where you can have massage, drinks or just relax.
The normal price is 3100 thb per persons and (1500 thb for children between 6 to 12 years old and free for babies under 6 years old).
You can pay by cash on the pier the day of the trip.
This price includes lunch, appetizers, soft drinks, towels, snorkeling and fishing equipment, fresh season fruits basket, roundtrip transfer & insurance.
The extra are for the alcohols sold on board and massage.
