Beautiful place. You can take a songthaew from the zoo or university up and down the mountain for cheap. You can also rent a bike or hike up yourself. There's a hiking trail off of Suthep Rd passed the university. Cover your knees and shoulders. They do provide scarfs to cover, but there are a limited amount.

The temple is situated outside the town you can rent the motorcycle and ride up there not to far. And also visit the Royal Flora it is an awesome place too.

Beautiful temples, spectacular scenery! I would highly recommend anyone visiting Chiang Mai to visit this temple. However, please do note that you will have to arrange your own transportation up. My family and I took a mini red van near Chang Phuak Gate, costing 50 Baht per journey. Additionally, you would have to climb a long flight of stairs before... More

This Temple is so beautiful on top of a hill overlooking Chiang Mai. Worth having a guide so you see and learn while wandering around this amazing sight. The only drawback on our visit was most of the time we were in the clouds so it was not such a good visual experience, but when it cleared it was just... More

If there's 1 Wat you can see if Chiang Mai, this is it. Beautiful Wat, grounds, surroundings. Tastefully and well cared for. It was a little busy with tourists when i went, but still very peaceful and wonderful environment and setting. Highly recommended.

Be ready to cross a million people. Other temples give a more spiritual feeling. This is large by all means, but a bit frustrating to visit with all the organized trips. Probably it is very nice when empty.

Having seen some of the other temples around Chiang Mai, we really expected a lot from Wat Phra That Doi Kham. What we got was a crowded and loud temple area with many things to see instead of the peaceful and special place we expected. The views over Chiang Mai are beautiful, but I wouldn't say that this is a... More

I saw this Wat as part of a 2 Wat trip in the evening Incredible views over Chiang Mai The Wat itself is an amazing blaze of gold and opulence. Too much to take in on such a short trip though. But if you are on limited time the this trip is unmissable There is a cable car that you... More
