This is a big hop on hop off boat that passes through a dozen main sites around the Chao Phraya river. You can either buy a one way ticket for 60 Baht or a full day unlimited ticket for 200 Baht.

Among the popular boat stops are: Wat Arun, Wat Pho, flower market, IconSiam mall, and Asiatique shopping area.

Big with lots of seatings, some information about the sites via a loudspeaker, but don’t count on it. Nice way to move about and enjoy the river.

A Tuk Tuk driver suggested us to take a boat - a supposedly 1 hour sunset cruising at THB1000 per pax. The experience was good but the ride was spoiled with occasional "traffic jam" at narrow waterways where the boat just stopped at insightful locations. It did stop at a magnificent Wat (I can't spell the long name). We didn't see the sunset because much time was spent stagnant at traffic jam 😕

This is pretty much a must do once you are in Bangkok and it is a great way to explore the city. We mix it up with using the local boats as well which fly up and down the river and it is worth spending some time around the place to explore as much as possible.

On this most recent visit, they were extremely quiet and often only one or two people on board. Best to plan your itinerary in advance and use the hop on and hop off feature to your maximum benefit.

Very safe, very professional and great fun.

Hi
This was an excellent way of seeing everything and getting about to locations within Bangkok. Jetties are located very close to the major sights and to the shopping areas like Chinatown etc .
I had no problem locating the piers and the boats run every 30 minutes or so so really didn’t have to wait long for next boat and timetable is accurate.
Boat has lots of room and top deck open so lots of phot opportunities.
However I didn’t purchase this trip as a tour as far to expensive . I went straight to the company and found a day ticket only cost about £4 when bought direct . They were very efficient and replied with QR code . The only issue was this had to be transferred into ticket at their main location but that is directly at Royal Palace so central location .
I found river travel very useful .

Between 8.30 and 17.30 you can hop on and hop off at different stops. The boats depart eery 30 minutes from 9 piers, including Sathorn Pier where we hopped on,
We did have some problems in one of the stops as there was a bit of a hassle, too many people wanted to get on the boat and it was already packed, it was late afternoon so everybody wanted to get back to Sathorn. We had to wait another 30 minutes and if you are tired after being around the whole day then it's really tiring.
All in all though we had a wonderful time.

An easy way to visit sites along the river, with great views from the top deck (though rather hot because there’s no shade). We got an all day pass for the hop on hop off boat and stopped off at several places. Boats run every half hour in both directions between Sathorn (Saphan Taksin) and Phra Arthit. There were no queues, the boats were comfortable, weren’t crowded and were punctual. If you get on at Sathorn it is easy to get waylaid by other tourist boat sellers before you get to the Chao Praya Tourist Boat desk. Prices for a point-to-point ticket are cheaper if you are only visiting one or two places.

We wished we had found this boat earlier. You can pay 30 baht for a one way trip or you can pay 150 for a all day pass and get on and off when and where you please. It was our last day in bangkok when we found this and it was a 2 minute walk from our hotel. We would've saved lots of taxis. The ride is nice with good views and looks like it would be worth stopping at a few of the stops if we had the extra time

It was our first time in Bangkok and we heard about this "hop on and hop off" boat called Chao Phraya Tourist Boat (not Express Boat) by local vloggers on YouTube. They recommended it, so we tried it.

We took BTS from our hotel and got off at BTS Saphan Taksin station. The pier is right below the station as you exit. (Walk towards the river.) On the far left of the pier is the Ticket booth for Chao Phraya Tourist Boat. We bought a One Day River Pass for 150 THB. They staple your receipt onto their brochure. (Don't lose it.) Soon the boat arrived and we got on. Since the weather was hot, we decided to sit "inside" the boat which was actually quite nice. It was open window so we caught the nice river breeze. We were going to The Grand Palace for our first stop. If you sit on the left side of the boat, you'll see ICON Siam and Wat Arun along the way before reaching The Grand Palace. They also make a pier stop at Ratchawong for Chinatown and Rajinee for Wat Pho and Museum Siam.

After visiting The Grand Palace, we got back onto the boat and went to ICON Siam for lunch before catching the boat again to head back to Sathorn pier where it was an easy walk to BTS Saphan Taksin. On another day, we purchased another One Day River Pass and visited Wat Arun and back to ICON Siam.

Highly recommend getting an All Day River Pass (peace of mind), especially if this is your first time to Bangkok. We enjoyed the experience.

I bought a one day river pass ticket and had an incredible experience. The sceneries along the river was absolutely breathtaking. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to explore the river at a reasonable price.

I usually take the orange flag express boat to the Grand Palace area from Saphin Taskin pier but they don’t appear to run very often now.
However now there appears to be two companies vying for tourists one of whom is this company. It was very confusing, buying tickets and when we appeared to be waiting for a long while I approached a male employee of this company to ask his advise. He saw I had a ticket for the other company and repeatedly cut me off yelling - “take it up with them” when all I was trying to ascertain was if I should get a ticket on their boat if it would leave sooner. Nearly didn’t bother at this point. Very rude indeed. But did get another ticket and the boat trip was very good.
Do not appreciate being treated like this as a visitor. Both ferry companies are doing Bangkok a disservice with this competition between them.
Local express boat costs 16baht (pay on the boat) - the first company’s ticket I was given was 20baht (green ticket from a lady at Saphin Taskin Pier) - finally I got a single one way ticket for the Tourist boat at 30baht (buy another to return or ride all day for 150 baht). And don’t forget the shuttles to Iconsiam are free.
