There is an interesting small model of Angor Wat on the temple grounds. This mini Angor wat shows the similarity of construction to the Grand Palace temple complex. Angor Wat was at one time part of one of the Thai empires.

This miniature-sized Angkor Wat complex model is pretty cool, but I'm not quite sure why it's here--the life-sized complex is in Cambodia! I would have liked some background info--was Cambodia part of Thailand at the time it was built, etc.

Really awesome model of Angkor Wat. It is within the palace grounds and you can't miss it as you are walking around the palace grounds. Get a a few good pictures from different angles

As described in the review for the Grand Palace: This Mini Angkor Wat was very impressive. All the details they put in. We felt a bit taken back to our real visit of Angkor. The temples are displayed very accurate in my point of view and we could show our friends what we have seen with pointing at things rather... More

Having seen the Original in Angkor Wat which is an excellent Temple monument I was a little worries that this might be disappointing but No it's not. Well worth the visit.

This mini version can be found in the Temple of Emerald Buddha, within the compound of the Grand Palace in Bangkok though. Quite 'magnificent' though and its details are great, considering that it is a model of the real Angkor Wat in Siam Reap, Cambodia.

I was so happy to find this Angkor Wat miniature in Royal Palace. It's very detail and well represent the real Angkor Wat building.

We were amazed by the fact that Thailand's king felt Ankor Wat was part of their territory. We spent a day turing the amazing land before continuing our journey to the real Ankor Wat. The tremendous model gave us some insight to what we would see in Cambodia!

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
