Accidentally went here as we had one evening and nothing really planned. Turned out to be a really nice place. They were giving laughing gas in the night. It was Saturday evening. The area was buzzing with activities and lottts of youngsters. If you have 2 evenings in bangkok, I'd suggest to spend one here..

Khao San road is the best street in Bangkok at night time, it is packed with tourists from all over the world, It is very active and vibrant. You cannot walk there without shaking your shoulders. It is a football size stadium night club. People are singing, dancing, drinking and enjoying every second there. All kinds of food are available... More

After visiting Bangkok for more than 20years we tried to get to Khao San Road for the first time to celebrate Songkret this year. Unfortunately we were turned away by police due to the dangerous overcrowding. Not put off we paid a visit during daylight hours a few days later. The place was all of the things you would expect... The place lights up after around 6. Great place to experience street food, as well as just chilling by a bar or pub as well as getting into groove with edm music.

Khao Son Road almost changes genre from daytime to nighttime. During the day it's busy with shopping and restaurants that line the street. At night, the streets are filled with partiers and loud music. It's all tons of fun!

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
