Very tasty Chinese food. Comfortable, well appointed, well staffed. A bit pricey, so a special occasion place with friends or a place to do business in a relaxed atmosphere.

Good to cruise in the Chao Phraya river with buffet dinner. Buddhist Temples, Wat Arun and Wat Pho are able to visit when you go by public transportation boat ferry. Take a Orange flag boat. Don't buy a ticket in the Pier near to Saphan taksin BTS. It is expensive and not much difference with other boats. Normally, you can... More

If you need to get from Riverside to China Town or Flower Market or Khao San Road, I highly recommend taking the shuttle boat or tourist boat.

I spent the best part of a Saturday recently using the Chao Phraya river as my general medium for getting around this crazy city. I took one of the tourist "cruise" boats from which you can hop on and off during the main course of the day. I also experienced an hour exploring the back waters and canals (Klongs) off... More

Get a tour that goes through canals close to sunset. You get to see locals gushing and eating. If you go during the day the windows are closed to keep heat out. Amazing to see how different some houses are along the river.

only 40 THB to travel on the express boat on the river, you can go all the way to pier 30 then look around and catch the boat back we always get on in China Town. you can also pay 150 THB nd have a day pass on any of the boats. that is only $6AUD

Great cheap easy way to see the sights plus nice and cool. We caught the orange express local ferry 15 baht and you can go as far as you want. Stunning scenery - excellent photo opportunities.

Staying in Chinatown / Yaowarat

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown / Yaowarat
Better known as 'Yaowarat' among locals, Chinatown is Bangkok's bustling district that never sleeps. During the day, the main street and its small alleyways are filled with a vibrant mix of colours, scents and flavours coming from the roadside restaurants and all-day markets. The real action, however, happens after sunset. Surrounded by neon lights, Thais and tourists alike flock here around dinnertime to feast on some of the best street food in town. Escape the chaos by venturing a little further from the main road and discover hidden shrines, friendly locals and daily life in its purest form.
