This is why Bangkok is called the Venice of the east - this river is so full of life and activity and interest. There a hop on hop off ferry but the public ferries are much cheaper and more fun.

I love staying high up on the river when I visit Bangkok. It’s much easier to get around using either a public boat or a private one, and aside from the Weekend Market, shopping centers or other attractions, many major tourist sites are easily accessible...More

Sort of a commuter boat that goes up and down the Bangkok river passing many of the sites along the river with about 30 stops. A low-cost (30 bahts) boat ride along the river, no-frills (no narration) but will get you where you need to...More

The Arun Residence hotel we stayed at was right in the river. There are brightly lit party boats at night and tourist/sightseeing boats during the day. Lots to see.

All the main temples and the grand palace is located on either side of the river. There are several river cruises and hop on boat for going to the various temples. All the boats depart from centeal pier station.

Would highly recommend taking a trip on the river, either with a scheduled boat trip or the day pass. The number of boats on the river is impressive, with large barges, to the many, many long tail boats and boat cruises. The pollution from the...More

Being by a hotel on the river was fantastic, to view all the traffic, with the comings and goings. They have ferries, long tailed boats, huge barges, and river cruise boats for parties.

Bangkok's bustling district that never sleeps. During
the day, the main street and its small alleyways are
