About
This night market is located inside Patpong, one of Bangkok's most infamous red-light districts. Here, you can get all sorts of souvenirs like knock-off clothing and t-shirts, colorful lights, coconut shell bowls, and even local art. Haggling is expected so try and get yourself a better bargain. Unlike other traditional Thai markets, there aren't many food stalls here. But there are a couple of stands selling yummy Thai street food just outside. The highlight, however, is the adult entertainment venues that surround the market. Check out the neon-lit go-go bars, massage parlors, and discotheques. You can experience Patpong and the nightlife of Bangkok on an evening tour of the city. – Tripadvisor

Top ways to experience Patpong Night Market and nearby attractions

The area
Address
Neighbourhood: Silom
Despite the lack of any major tourist attractions, this lively neighborhood is a favorite of many. Whether it's the (somewhat naughty) nightlife of Soi Patpong, the various handicraft night markets or the plethora of dining options that tickle your fancy, a night out in Silom is a must on every itinerary. It's worth a stop during daytime, too: join office workers on a quest to tasty street food during lunch and shop at Silom Complex for a great mix of Thai and international stores. After a day of strolling around the congested sidewalks, a visit to Silom's Lumphini Park, Bangkok's answer to NYC's Central Park, is a welcome change of scenery.

    Not worth it
The products on sale are not all great. Asked the price of a knock off bag and lady said 4000 baht . Small dragon statue made of resin and stone , they started with 1000bath and were willing to come down to 500. Small market and I was not too happy with it . Visit after 6pm because it takes them a while to set up the place .

    Nothing Like It Was
Back in 2002 when we were first here the place was buzzing with immense character- sleazy but in an oddly respectable way. Today, its totally sterile - only about 25% of the number of stalls as before and most of these selling food/drink; the tourist tat stalls were few and far between. Really disappointing

    A funny trip
The market is small yet well-maintained, with a charming cleanliness. What I find particularly enticing are the street foods available. They are predominantly fresh and delectable, making for a delightful culinary experience. Moreover, the prices are quite reasonable, adding to the overall appeal of this market.

Night market shadow of former self
I first went to here about 20 years ago and it was a large, vibrant market situated within the red light district. You could haggle for all sorts of goods and there was a relaxed vibe about the place. Unfortunately it has now been reduced to a couple of streets selling tacky souvenirs, where you will get the guys touting the "entertainment" of the bars in the street. I guess if you want to walk down a couple of streets and see a few clubs, you can tick off a red light district but it is not worth going for the market.

    Patkong market at night
The market itself had everything and like all Thailand markets it was great fun haggling and buying a few bargains. In the streets around the market there was plenty of choice of street food and restaurants and the nightlife was buzzing. Great place to go to if you are in the Silom area

    Leisurely Walk Through Many Stalls
This is the first market we have visited. Is everything that one sees when doing the prior research on YouTube!! Vendors are friendly and not pushy at all. A firm, but polite thank you, is all that is required. We entered from Surawong Road. Be careful of the traffic and motor cycles they do stop if you are firm when walking across the zebra crossings. The food element is at the end and is very well frequented. Overall a pleasant market with lots of items to choose from. The goods themselves look genuine but as always in Thailand, buyer beware..

Sleaziest market in Bangkok. Be aware of what you are going to....
I did see some people with kids here, but this is not a family friendly market. This is one of the sleaziest markets in Thailand. Ping pong shows, hookers, "massage" parlours, go go bars, etc. Fairly dirty atmosphere overall. There are lots of decent products for sale, prices vary (you must negotiate), and some of the vendors are extremely pushy. The food court is very reasonably priced and most of the food is excellent. I see lots of negative reviews, and I suspect those people had no idea what they were getting into.. Be aware of what you are going to. Jodd Faris market is much more family friendly and cleaner, etc... but they don't have much of this sleazy aspect. If you like that kind of thing, you will love this place. If you don't, seriously... don't come here.

Patpong night market is just a seedy trap these days. The market stalls aren’t anything you can’t find elsewhere and the bars at the sides are there to exploit young women for the entertainment of tourists. If you, like me, love Thailand, refuse to enter these establishments and take your tourist dollar elsewhere. Just around the corner there are some wonderful (above board) massage places and wonderful beef or pork noodle soup stand.

Quintessential Bangkok - this mall is loud and has food stalls including fried insects and lots of sleazy ping pong bars. I’m gay but when in Rome right…

This market is FANTASTIC ...do not listen to reports that it's closed or has limited shopping ect that's a lie ...after going to dreadful JODD FAIR and MBK patpong still has the best and cheapest handbags copy watches and a fantastic new outdoor food section.
Please support these locals that need us now more than ever .
Don't waste your time on other markets ...TRUST ME ...I'm.a seasoned shopper and this is as cheap and as good quality as you can get .❤

One of Bangkok's many Night Markets the Patpong location is fairly basic in terms of the food offerings while goods tend to be cheap knockoffs of luxury brands. Fans of Ping Pong Shows will find many vendors selling their brand.

A seedy, gritty, rat invested (yes, we saw them) night market (den of thieves) is your idea of a “good time”, then this is the place for you. Prostitution, fake goods and foul food to name a few less than desirable characteristics.
RID THE CITIES OF THIS!!
