In the evening, this lively market is a great place to shop for souvenirs, fake brand name items and cheap goods and to visit Bangkok’s infamous “adult entertainment area.”

Top ways to experience Patpong Night Market and nearby attractions
The area
Neighbourhood: Silom
Despite the lack of any major tourist attractions, this lively neighborhood is a favorite of many. Whether it's the (somewhat naughty) nightlife of Soi Patpong, the various handicraft night markets or the plethora of dining options that tickle your fancy, a night out in Silom is a must on every itinerary. It's worth a stop during daytime, too: join office workers on a quest to tasty street food during lunch and shop at Silom Complex for a great mix of Thai and international stores. After a day of strolling around the congested sidewalks, a visit to Silom's Lumphini Park, Bangkok's answer to NYC's Central Park, is a welcome change of scenery.
How to get there
- Sala Daeng • 4 min walk
- Si Lom • 7 min walk

Seven years passed since here last time. Only few vendors and shops now, everything is changed. No attraction as there was previously. - Patpong food area has some pretty good restaurants.

Such a fun experience with quite a few stalls selling lots of souvenirs! Best street food around the market if you walk a few metres away from the market. Super super affordable and I had the most delicious vegetable spring rolls and Phad Thai from a street vendor!

Seems to have suffered from Covid times and much less visitors. We´ve been told it starts to get more lively again - but currently not really worth a visit

Usually a great place to get good deals after a massage however it was closed when I went.
But, Pratunam market and MBK did not disappoint, as the selection and prices are probably even better than Patpong.

Covid has taken its toll and the night market has closed. There really is not any reason to go there at night except if you are looking for seedy bar non more seedier than Thigh bar. - you have been warned.

I have been to this area in Silom road many times, and the markets at night were busy, sadly this is not the case and I could count only a few vendors. Perhaps on my next journey this will be revived.

Unfortunately this night market did not survive the Corona Lockdown. In 2019 a prospering and vivid night market and street with bars and night clubs and now a sad and empty street with just a few bars left.

Prior to covid the Patpong night market was one of the places to visit. It was a thriving area, full of stalls with cheap goods and street food.
Visited again in July 2022 and, as others have written, it’s now completely gone. Not one stall is left. The street is now dark and a little forbidding. Such a shame.

Has anyone ever been battered(physically beaten) for not complying with the extortion attempts of the criminal element that control these tombs of sexploitation at the Patong market sex shows?

Yes, it’s not unheard of someone to be physically assaulted in one of these places. They are run by the Thai mafia and most people would rather pay than have the confrontation when badly outnumbered. Sometimes alcohol causes a lapse in judgement and crap happens.

Patpong market happy bar is a SCAM!!!!!These guys with their pingpong show, pussy show and whatever kind of lists on the street actually lured us in this Happy bar, (the one right next to Kings Castle ) and said that the show is free - we only had to pay for the beers we had. In the end they didnt want to let us out, threatened us, and called some other guys to stay by their side. Instead of the free show we had to pay 500 baht just so they let us out...never ever go there!

This is true and I don't recommend anybody to go there.
They are all owned by the same mafia!
I knew of this scam and went there just to test them.
Initially they told us that it cost 100 baht and that we could have "a free look".
When we did this but declined the same seller took us to another club, which we also just went up to look then left.
After that they were all over us trying to get us into a club.
One male seller took us to a another, same story "only 100 baht, free look".
He pulled my by my wrist trying to get me further into the club.
I told him firmly to come and discuss with me and I asked what the entrence fee really is.
After a while he then admitted that the "100 baht" thing is just for the drink, then we will be charged 500 baht each.
I said no thanks and had to pull his grip from my wrist and quickly move away.
Again I say, BIG WARNING! You never know what they really will charge you!
