It is interesting that in the middle of a big city, this is a place that can be called an oasis of peace. A visit there is an opportunity not only to admire the buildings themselves. You can take the opportunity to meditate. There is also a small and beautiful park where you can walk or contemplate and museum. The temple has many advantages and has a peaceful atmosphere. It is located in the Pathum Wan district between Siam Paragon and CentralWorld - two large shopping malls.Visited October 2022Travelled soloWritten 26 April 2023

- Andrew I48 contributionsBeautiful temples, be careful of the scammerBeautiful quiet temples in the concrete jungle. Only a few people there praying, beautifully presented. BEWARE: as we were walking in we had a guy with very good English try and scam us. He said the temple was closed as itās a Buddhist holiday and recommended we visit the Lucky Buddha temple instead (Google lucky Buddha scam Bangkok). We walked away and watched while he did the same with some other tourists and put them in a tuc tuc. While he was doing that we walked in, it wasnāt closed and it wasnāt a holiday. - bogwurst151 contributionsnice and freei've walked passed this temple since the late 2000s but never bothered to check it out. it's sandwiched between central world and siam paragon, you can see it clearly from the pedestrian skyway. entrance is free you can go in and check it out. the two main buildings has a very elaborate interior. the smaller buildings have statues as well. just be careful of scammers loitering outside the area telling tourists that it is "closed" and offer to drive you to a different location. those kinds of scammers exist in other tourist spots as well.Visited February 2024Travelled soloWritten 28 February 2024

A large temple in the heart of newer Bangkok, Wat Pathum, is only 5 minute walk from Bangkokās major shopping center, Paragon, Siam Square and Central world. The temple pursue the practice of the forest monk. There are many large trees inside the temple. Very relaxing to walk around

Close to the shopping district, it gives an amazing contrast of the peace and quiet provided by the temple with the high-rise buildings that surround it. It's very peaceful and we were the only tourists there when we visited. It has meditation halls and a beautiful main temple.

Lovely temple, which is now under construction. Very serene, with a nice garden next to it. A place to stay for an hour or so to escape from the city's noise....

Despite a personal loss, had to travel to Phuket and Bangkok. Was fortunate that someone suggested Wat Pathun Wanarum. They have a huge hall where one can meditate by oneself. Nestled between two large malls, it is an oasis of calm. So much greenery, peace and quiet. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a place to meditate as much as one wants or needs to. My heartfelt gratitude to Rojana Vanich and Harshdeep Kamble for sharing information about Wat Pathun Wanarum

Not a must see! When compared to other Wats - this is just average, at best. If you are in the area, stop in. Otherwise, do not make a special trip!
