Very good, but not much variety!

I have been here twice, and I love it! Lots of big, hard fighting fish with attitutde, and they will put you to the test in a big way! The only drawback is that they are pretty... read more

Go, if you want to hook a big catfish and get the picture! Don't go, all the way to Bangkok just for this! Guides are not that good, can be rude, and treat you like you have never held a rod before. The fish know how to snag on the board walks, very frustrating. The gear you hire looks like... More

Bungsamram I very much a high energy commercial fishery, UK mostly by locals for the hauling of monsters. That is not to say you can't fish in a more sporting way or that you have to target bite after bite, there are some huge meekong, probably close the world record to aim for try the margin areas as far from... Just a quick trip to understand the fishing experience. Pleasantly surprised. Whilst a small lake the size of fish was impressive. Locals mixed with tourists, good service and good local cuisine. For serious fishermen.....not the place to go BUT for those who want to understand that "size does matter"....at least when it comes to fishing....it's the place to go in... More

This lake is not fit for purpose, if you are a Thai that wants to catch small fish for dinner, the design of the platforms and bungalows are fine, if you are a holiday maker or/and avid angler after monsters it is not. Don't get me wrong, if you are in Bangkok and want to catch some big hard fighting... More

I have been here twice, and I love it! Lots of big, hard fighting fish with attitutde, and they will put you to the test in a big way! The only drawback is that they are pretty much all mekong giant catfish! So, if you are going for variety, this is not the best lake. Yet, if you are going... More

If you're tired of the usual shopping and dining in Bangkok and want to try something different, the Bungsamran fishing park is worth considering. Can't think of any other place where one could be guaranteed a big catch! It is located around 45 minutes (depending on traffic conditions) outside Bangkok. If you get a metered cab from Sukhumvit area, it... More
