We had one full day in Bangkok and wanted to get the most out of it, so we booked Grasshopper's bike and canal day tour. We had our 3 year old with us, and we all had the most amazing day riding through the back alleys of the city! Our guide was incredible and very helpful with our son. He... More

I'm not sure if it was because I hated Bangkok or if it was because the tour didn't highlight the city's best parts, but I found it to be very mediocre. It didn't interest me much, although I liked riding around the alleys of Bangkok. My tour guide was very sweet, however, and she made it enjoyable.

If the temple of the Dawn, the Flower Market and Wat Pho is wow you and Tammy our most enthusiastic guide could not stir you, really must not have like Bangkok. Sorry for that. We hope that you do find some place in your travels to bring you some enthusiasm. If you do come back to Bangkok, we will do... More

We enjoyed two trips with Grasshopper with Tom as our guide. Both were excellent. The night Food Adventure tour took us through back alleys, narrow lanes and closed markets to areas we would never otherwise see, stopping to eat at food stalls serving delicious Indian, Chinese and Thai food, as well as some freshly cooked grasshoppers, crickets and silk worms.... The Bangkok night bike tour was great, I can't recommend it highly enough. Seeing the temples at night was amazing. It was also awesome to see the residential areas and flower market. Tammy was a superb guide - very knowledgeable, friendly and funny. We will definitely be riding with grasshopper adventures again!

We just completed the 2 week Grasshopper bike tour from Bangkok to Saigon. My husband and I thought it was the best tour we have ever taken - for sure! Our guides (Tick, Lot and Phat) were organized, kind, fun and just great to lead us on this adventure. We had different abilities of bikers - and somehow Tick, Lot... More

Jumped on the night bike ride the day I arrived to help with jet lag. It was a small group of 6, with such an awesome, friendly and knowledgeable guide. Grasshopper Tours is super well organized, from beginning logistics to the end. We hit some of the sites (Wat Arun, Wat Pho, flower market) and rode through some back streets... More

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
