Loved taking the gondola up to the mountain. It's a great way to escape the city for a bit, enjoy some good food and excellent tea. Very peaceful and I cannot imagine visiting Taipei without having done the gondola!

Another little Gem hidden in Taipei. Its a great place to visit and see the scenery and get some amazing city views. Do not go there on a bad day as the view is the main attraction here.

Definitely not worth the line to get a clear bottom car departing the taipei zoo station. The wait time is crazy. Instead, on the way back you should get on one straight away or just a 5 minute wait. I do recommend going in the clear bottom one, but just once. And on the way back is less hectic.

We went to the top, and it was foggy and very atmospheric. The bathroom was very Chinese, and was sort of a drain in the floor and you hold onto pipes to situate yourself. We walked the mile or so to the temple and that was great. It was a Sunday, and there was barely anyone around. The people at... More

The Maokong Gondola is well worth visiting. Allow a full day to hike trails and visit shrines and museums. Zoo at base of gondola worth a visit . Lines for gondola on weekends a bit long ... not that bad .

Came in a cloudy afternoon, this would have been great on a cool, calm, sunny day. You have two choices a normal gondola or a glass bottom gondola. Both gondola carries 6 adult occupants. Ticket counters and ticket machines are at the ground floor. There are ushers and guides along the way up to the landing where you hop into... More

The gondola leaves from near the Taipei zoo MRT station- use your easy card for a $20 discount. The discounted oneway ride is $100. Many guidebooks still give the old price of 50 but it has gone up... But for the ride length and scenery it is great value. We choose the normal car but you can go in a... More

This is a fun way to view Taiwan from a different vantage. You end up in a quaint village known for tea, and in the process view near- jungle like forests and catch sight of monumental temples.

This ride offers you a wonderful moment of peace with stunning views. What's more? At the top, you are able to chill, experience moments of tranquillity be it with friends, loved ones or by yourself over a cup of authentic tea. Worth it.

Always check first if the sun will be out. It will not be worth it if there's even slight rain. If it's sunny, enter the Taipei Zoo and take the shuttle to the South Station. The first gondola station beside the Taipei Zoo can have a very long line. Alight at the Maokong station where you can choose the crystal... More
