I really loved both the courtyard (actually across an alley from temple) and the temple, although completely different in style. The courtyard had four or so waterfalls, in a complex system of old bridges and rocks made of stone that children would love to crawl...More

I'll be honest, after a couple of temples, they all start looking the same. This is a large one though, but hot. It's nearby the Confucius Temple, which was more unique. We came upon this Paoan Temple after visiting the Confucius Temple.

Definitely worth the slight excursion. It isn't crowded with either tourists nor worshipers. This latter was a plus as I'm always uncomfortable gawking at something while someone else, who lives there is in the midst of mindful prayer. Splendid paintings, etc. Two parts to it....More

Can't believe that I almost missed this temple - it is such a remarkable place. Visited this temple as my last tourist site of the day and was thrilled when I arrived. It is a large complex but beautifully restored. There is so much to...More

This temple has very delicate art work and detail all over. An incredibly peaceful and cam place in the busy-ness of Taipei. There is much to see although it is not as active for local prayer as Longshan Temple. It is easily accessible via MRT...More

I learned of the temple when researching best night photo opportunities for Taipei and was so glad we visited. The temple was peaceful with very few visitors when we arrived around 20:00. We were able to take our time inspecting the beautiful intricacies of the...More

Without a doubt, Baoan Temple was the highlight of my trip to Taiwan. Originally, the group I was with had only intended to visit the nearby Confucius temple, but since Paoan Temple was so close-by we decided to visit it as well. I'm glad we...More

Temple is known for its fanciful woodwork and and spectular wooden dragons. The colors of the roofs were very interesting. This was a very serine, peaceful place. Not overly crowded. If you're in the area, it's worth going to if you haven't seen other Temples.

A smaller temple with a lot of people visiting. It's very nice and beautifully designed so I'd say it's worth a visit if you're in the area. Be respectful of the people who's there to do pray and worship.

There are some accommodations close to this place but I must say i never tried them. There is metro station ( red line) Yuanshan aprox. 500 meters from the temple and also the bus stop like 200 meters from there.
