The largest zoo in Asia, this was original a private zoological garden. The giant panda house, Formosan animal area, koala house and Asian tropical rainforest area are of particular note.

Great zoo with good layout and well maintained. As mentioned by some other travellers, food options might be limited but the quality was decent and priced fairly. Vending machines selling snacks and drinks are priced similar to stores outside the park which was nice. I...More

It is a big zoo, very good for young kids, you can see number of animals here. can spend plenty of time there. Make sure to take plenty for water with you as well as you need to walk a lot.

We had visit this zoo on march. The zoo is very big and have a lot of animals such like panda, bear, red panda....etc. It's well maintain and kids friendly. Too bad we do not have enough time to visit all the hall.

The Taipei Zoo is modestly priced and has a vast collection of animals, but I got the impression that this comes at the cost of the living conditions for many of them. While some of the enclosures are world class, most seemed rather small in...More

I find that the way a zoo is set out gives a good insight into the nature of the country and its' people. This zoo is excellent in that the animals are well cared for and have lots of space.

This is a well managed zoo, with many attractions but panda is the must seen, it can get crowded even during weekday when school groups come. It’s easy to get there by MTR, but get there when it opens at 9am, worth going!

I would not recommend this. it makes more sense to visit zoo first and take a break at maokong. most likely you'll spend at least half day in zoo. Then you take gondola up to Maokong, find a nice tea house and enjoy sunset... More

hi! just take the MRT. Much cheaper and stops just a few 100 meters from the zoo. I took the Gondola on the way back just for fun otherwise you can certainly take the MRT back too.
