To the southern part of Kathmandu, this temple lies for its pilgrims and followers to worship the Hindu Goddess 'Kali'. Famous for 'khuwa'- a local sweet pudding and the serene natural beauty around attracts the valley people to make a trip besides religious trip!

Located about 20km outside Kathmandu, 1km from Pharping village, it is one of the major temples of Nepal dedicated to the goddess Kali. Normally it is very crowded and many devotees offer animal sacrifices here. Entry is permitted to Hindus only. There are many stalls along the path leading to the temple.

So many people told us to visit this temple. Very popular with locals. Went there and saw a huge line of people as it was Saturday. Animal sacrifice is done here to please the Goddess.

We went to get the blessings of Mata Dakshin Kali. We took around 1 hour to reach from Kathmandu on our bike. The drive was good. The only thing which I did not like about the place was that people were carrying animals(goats) and hen to sacrifice them.

We went on a Saturday with the local bus. The trip itself was equally fun. The atmosphere is incredible the ritual is amazing to see its special and private to them so be careful when filming and taking photos not to disturb people. It's one of the best experiences we had in Nepal
