Due to the earthquake the building is very damaged. All the books are gone. There is really nothing to see at this place. It is even too dangerous to wander around the building and the gardens.

This historic library has not been reconstructed since 2015 earthquake. All the books are dumped in rucksack. Saw few employees reading newspapers, that's it.

But there is certainly an atmosphere to be soaked up. If you like slightly off beat places this may well fit the... More

In a former old Rana palace next to the Garden of Dreams, this library is very old fashioned and in fact does not seem to have anything published after the 1970s. However, if you just want to browse or immerse yourself in the atmosphere, you are allowed to use this, probably Kathmandu's only public library. In the downstairs room, there... More

Next to thamel, Kaiser library named after Kaiser samsher Rana, son of Rana prime minister. It is a collections of old and new books. Though it is a library, when you enter there you feel that you are in museum.
