The Garden of Dreams, a neo classical historical garden, is situated in the midst of Kathmandu city, Nepal. The Garden's design has much in common with formal European gardens: paved perimeter paths, punctuated by pavilions, trellises, and various planting areas, surrounded by a sunken flower garden with a large pond at its center. It is an architectural landscape that encourages the visitor to stroll around and discover the Garden's treasures from many different vantage points.

This attraction, within walking distance of the Thamel district of Kathmandu, provided my friend and me with a welcome escape from the congestion and even from the pollution of the surrounding city. For a small entrance fee, experience how even a small area of hydration can totally alter the feel of a place in the middle of a city. Would... More

It's a peaceful park surrounded by a couple of nice buildings. Unless you are willing to sit down relax and chill, visiting here is not worthy. Basically it's a beautiful garden. There is a restaurant inside and you can have a good affordable meal there.

I would recommend visiting the Garden of Dreams for a quiet, relaxing wander and meal. The unreal sense of isolation from the noise, smell and activity of Kathmandu streets. A solitary brick wall separating the city to a peaceful garden. Apely named tourist spot to chill out and escape the surrounding hustle and bustle

Amazing landscaping ad beautiful scenery. It is a place to relax and enjoy serenity, the place has elegant walkways, ponds, and gardens. Many spots to relax, sit down with a book, or to meditate. There are also small history exhibitions and plenty of space to eat. The place is well cared for, there is great architecture and history. The name... More

This place is a hidden gem. You will appreciate it even more after a long but fun walk around thamel. Thamel is very busy and very dusty and you find this amazing place, tranquil, beautiful garden, great architecture and history. It feels like you transported into another place.

We visited this place at night when the garden lanterns illuminated the walkways and ponds. This place is the definition of a hidden gem. Amazingly elegant landscaping. Peaceful quiet surroundings (thanks to the high walls between you and Thamel). This is the place to relax in downtown Kathmandu. They also have a Restaurant/Bar, but service is pretty slow so come... Loved coming here for some peace, quiet and (relatively) clean air during our stay in Thamel. Lots of spots to relax with a book, meditate or people/wildlife watch. Lovely atmosphere and beautiful well cared for gardens with a great, if small exhibition on the history of the restoration. Great value for money at 200rs per person. Plenty of cafe space... More

Me and my wife had a romantic stroke one evening - it's a peaceful getaway from the chaos outside. Worth the price of admission.

If you are tired of the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu, then step through the doorway of The Garden Of Dreams and let it all wash away. The entrance fee is a small price to pay for access to Nepal's answer to The Garden of Eden. Gorgeous plants, perfect landscaping, ponds, quietness, and..........squirrels. Not just ordinary squirrels, but tiny striped... More
