The Pyramids are about 3 hours drive from Khartoum. So you can have a day trip except you want to visit Musawwarat that need 4-5 hours addition. I went to the Pyramids in May 2017 and very few tourists there.

What a visit it was although in the hot summer month with family and sand burning the feet. Although these are small and not of grandeur like that of Giza, Egypt, but even then makes the visit worth.

If you happen to be in The Sudan for an extended period, make sure you go to the Meroe Pyramids. It's worth the effort.

I found Khartoum and the area north to Shendi and Meroe very safe and the people very welcoming. There are unresolved conflicts in provinces to the south and in Darfur to the west however.

Hi Nur, you may check this site tourdesudan.site123.me regard secure and safty all north side of Sudan are much safer than the western Sudan.
