Previous trips here have been at the behest of guests and a bit Ho hum. However this visit we stayed inside the NP at the NWR Dune lodge. This enabled us to do 'game and birding' drives as well as visit Deadvlei etc., thus an opinion change and I would return. Even Deadvlei obliged with a pair of Oryx and... More

Namib is probably the most classic Namibia experience. This is most likely what you came for to Namibia: red sand, desert, endless space, quite time and Oryx. We enjoyed our stay in the area and weren’t really expecting to find a place this quiet and peaceful.

After climbing up Deadvlei, at dawn and sitting there looking at these amazing dunes is just magical, very hard to express the feeling you get. It is so beautiful. The light cool wind blowing, the colours, the shapes, the silence, the wilderness, the view of the clay pond with gorgeous crops of twisted camel thorn trees is awesome. The highest... More

Difficult to express what I felt while spending a few days in this desert. I surely had tears in my eyes looking at the beauty of such landscapes and the variety of colors..... hearing at times the sound of the wind and birds and otherwise enjoying the silence and peace. It is worth the experience at all levels.

Namibia is a desert! There are two: Namib and Kalahari. They're beautiful and inhabited by different animals: Oryx antelope, caracals and if you're lucky you can see even lions!

The idea of getting away from it all for a holiday is a hackneyed one. People seem to apply it whether they are going a few miles up the road or something very much more remote. The NamibRand is definitely in the latter camp. Wild, beautiful, stunning light, evocative sunrises and sunsets. And so few people - even after just a... More

We visited this reserve via a 2 night tour with "Tok Tokkie Trails" on our Honeymoon. The scenery was spectacular as the tour hosted by the Tok Tokkie was excellent (food, camping, dinner, drinks, etc. - all amazing).

The desert in Namibia takes many shapes and colours. A must see! You will need a 4 x 4 vehicle though.
