We tried three times. And we could not find anything that looked like a museum or had a sign, a name, anything that would indicate the existence of such a place... Sadly, because we were interested to see it. I see most of the reviews are quite old. Maybe it is closed or moved?

Like most museums in Maputo this was closed over the christmas and new year holidays, even though there are a lot of tourists in the city and family that would appreciate somewhere to go.

Please note that the picture featured for the Revolution Museum is in fact the Natural history museum and not the Revolution Museum.

This museum reminds me when i was in primary school and we did a study tour... that was a very looooong time ago. I have a lot of respect for this museum because in Mozambique we don't have a museum culture unfortunately, but this one is quite something. If you're ever in Maputo, go have a look.

When we enjoy, we forget those that perished whilst fighting for the dignity of the African people. I was touched learning about the gallant escapades of Dr Eduardo Mondlane who was in the same profession as I, and Mr Samora Moises Machel! Khanimambo! May their souls rest in peace! Their blood wrote the preamble of African century! Viva!

We passed but the guard said it has been closed since 2010. It has been bought by the leading political party so soon will just be a propaganda machine

I went to this Museum braced for the worst (it is actually owned by the party that one the war post-revolution so history is always written by the victors so they say) but wasnt expecting to find it closed. Even worse, the person who told me said it had been closed for nearly two years.

This place will tell you how the Mozambicans fought for their country. You will feel as if you're in their shoes, it's that good. Worth a visit.

The collection of the exhibits are reasonable but it is not maintained or displayed in an attractive fashion. It's worth a short visit to understand the history of the Mozambican independence on the way to one of markets.
