This place e near my office. In its enclosure has a balcony of my bank where I usualy go to use the ATM. Founded more than one handred years ago this place preserves the architectural aspects which confers a postcard of the city. If you came to Maputo never miss to visit this place.

Maputo does not offer much for tourists - the Central Train Station is probably the main place to visit but there is not much else worth seeing. It is a beautiful place and you can´t miss it while visiting Maputo. It is very old and has an antique architecture. It makes you go back on time. Unfortunately trains are as old and very damaged but they are still working. A nice place to meet mozambican history.

For the most part Maputo is relatively safe however around this train station especially the quiet streets around it you need to be vigilant even with the police as they are pretty corrupt.

It has been known to be one of the Africa's wonders. The station has restaurants, which food is both national and international. Sometimes is used for Maputo fashion week which is an popular event. During December is visited by many tourists who fled the cold of northern Hemisphere.

The station was built between 1913-16, is very well maintained with many orginal features. For railway enthusiasts it is a must see. There is railway museum between two of the platforms.
