Stopped on the way to Black River Gorge. Beach looked nice and clean with trees for shade. Nice view of the mountains in the north. Unfortunately no waves at that moment - supposed to be almost the only beach with waves.

I think it`s the beach where you can really get the authentic Mauritius feeling. As you can see also many locals and there is no 5 Stars resort right there. The beach is nice, no corals close to the shore, surfers in the right days...More

The best beach I visited in Mauritius. No reefs no sunbeds no umbrellas just the open sea. A bonus the river passing to get there!!

Tamarin beach is extremely dirty, naturally, black sand beach, not at all place to visit. can be skipped. Though lot of tour operators for dolphin tours etc operate from here.

I was there in the last week of July. Winter!! Beautiful sunshine, warm water, lots of swimming. I guess summer may be hotter and more humid. Coming from the UK, I think their winter will be beautifully warm for you.
