This a Hindu temple on a very grand scale and would be of great attraction to people of that faith. It is not, however, of any great interest to people of other faiths. Nevertheless it is attractively situated around a lake and monkeys gambol around...More

We did the South West Tour with Vick Tour Belle Mare. The Grand Bassan (known as Holy lake) was included in our itinerary. The weather wasn't good but we could take some photos. You can visit inside the temple.

Our taxi driver took us here, and was superb in explaining the meaning of each of the statues. Beautiful place with loads of monkeys running around. Most are friendly however one chased us off, which was hilarious.

I would like to visit during the MahaSivaratri celebration and join in the prayers at the Siva temple, which falls on the 24/2/2017. I need a transport from and back to the Airport and also for 1 week tour of the Island plus 3 star hotels (bed and breakfast) during my stay, planed for 2 persons. Please quote the total cost in USD.
