Rova also known as queen's palace is a nice place for a day outing. We visited in the afternoon. Our guide was very informative and we learned a lot about Madagascar traditions from his knowledge sharing.

Walked there based on the map supplied by tourist information (ORTANA). Not much to see inside given seriously destroyed by a fire broke out in 1995, still restore in progress. Walked out the palace and down the road, the wall at the right hand side have interesting brick carving wall telling the whole Madagascar’s history. You may ask the palace... More

At the top of the hill overlooking the city of Antananarivo, you will find the incomplete renovation of the Rova - Le Palais de la Reine. Destroyed in a major fire years ago, the Rova is 40% way through a complete renovation but the renovation stopped some years ago so its disappointing that the renovation has not been completed but... it was a very nice experience to visit that place once in my life. I really enjoyed the view fom the top of the hill. I went there with a friend of mine and it was nice unless the government should adjust some infrastructure to make it more lovely... Thanks for the guide who show us and tell us about... More

You must hire a guide at the entrace for a small fee. He told interesting stories and showed us the sights. Apparently there is a King's Palace which is just outside town which is worthwhile to visit. We took a taxi to the Rova, then afterwards, walked to visit neighboring sites and back to town, about a half day trip... More

An interesting place - though the mandatory guide was just okay. Better history lesson at Ambohimanga. The Rova - Le Palais de la Reine is the city counterpart to the countryside palaces. Good views of the city.

Nice place to visit. My recommendation is to go. I guess the guide do an excellent work there but there is not a real necessity to hire one for the visit. The story of the building though is interesting and might worth a visit.

It depends on you how much you like it. But also here it is really not necessary to visit. All you can see is just building from outside no inside allowed and a small holly house and you will hear many many small stories from local guide. You eill have chance to take city photo from high.

It's an interesting structure, as far as structures go. It's situated atop the highest hill overlooking the city. There is really not much to do while visiting the site. We were the only ones there. A guide took us on a tour. Very un Disney. Maybe if I had studied the history behind the structure. That could inspire a visit.... More
