We drove from Maseru to Katse Dam. It was 5 hours journey which cuts through Maloti mountains. We traveled in August, and had snowfall just a week back. As we left the plains and entered hilly region, snow covered mountains started getting visible. As we climbed up, there was snow along side road. The sun was out, weather was cold... More

As another reviewer said, Tough but beautiful. The winding roads (some tarred, some gravel) slows down the trip and the driver is not always available to take in the beautiful view. It is up to the passengers to take photos.

Great views of mountains and waterfall. I would however suggest for visitors to use a 4x4 or local guide to drive as roads are tricky and there large sections of uneven gravel roads.

I've been there hiking with friends and this place in really picturesque. If the weather is good you are able to see very far and during the night the sky is so clear that it will mesmerize you

For anyone who loves mountains, a weekend trip to Katse Dam, Afriski, or Semonkong is worth the views. Although not the same type of sheer rock faces as the Rockies or the Alps, some of Lesotho's finest scenery is worth a weekend drive. If renting a car, ensure you do so from South Africa or in advance by a week... More

Hiking in those mountains is just amazing. The view is wooow and you can't buy it anywhere. Fresh air and high where we went was Ohhh so amazing. We walked a lot but you can't compare the feeling after all because you feel tired of the things you had seen and things you had done it's just unforgettable and simple... More

During my trip, I drove close to Maluti Mountains, that was amazing! When I sent my pics to some friends, they said to me that those pics seemed like the moon! Lesotho is incredible and these landscapes are nonpareil.

I love coming to Maluti Mountains, whether its in summer to hike, mountain bike, fly fish or swim in the cold streams or in Winter to ski and snowboard... Maluti is a refreshing place that brings you down to earth and revitalizes your soul. The drive over Moteng pass is always a highlight and a bottle of Maluti beer, while... More
