I took a Merkato tour by Yared (+251 963 72 7196), and it was great experience. Yared knows the market extremely well and was kind enough to accommodate my requests - traditional dress shopping, local snacks tasting (maize, fresh fruits) etc. Highly recommended to those...More

Ethiopian Birr is the currency almost all the marketgoers use. However, if you give them USD or Euro they will be happy esp if you are in a big shop or hotel.
