There is nothing much to do in N'Djamena and this street is the only place which looks different from others and active. If your in N'Djamena who have to take a look at this street.

This is where you should be, and in fact I slept in a hotel in this avenue, full of life, shops, restaurants and even ATM, very safe area to walk even at night.

Avenue Charles de Gaulle is the main avenue of N'Djamena, if it was in Paris it would be the Champs Elisees, in London it would be Oxford Street... but in much, much, much lower scale:)

Nobody comes to NDjamena for the sights, not much to say about them. A 5 minute walk down the street will provide all the impressions you need, suggest leave wallet, phone & watch in hotel safe while doing so.

In all honesty, N'Djamena is not a very beautiful city: it is flat and with no special attractions. The only places to see are the Av. Charles de Gaulle, the market and the river. Nothing more. The good thing is that, over the years all...More

I've only been a few other places in the world that hits all my senses at the same time. The sights, the sounds, the smells, walking through the mass of humanity. I Loved It!!
